MacAllan 15yo

This whisky is one of those that need no excuse to be enjoyed at any time of day or year.  The flavours are clear and easy to understand, yet the finishing touches in cherry and bourbon cask bring vibrant and loud notes.
The MacAllan bottle is one of my favourites. It has timeless shape like no other brand. It brings to mind the shadows and shapes of art deco. And when you sip your drink away it is easy fall in to thinking that 100 years ago when art deco was not yet conceived. The men and women who ended up being the pioneers of the movement got their revolutionary ideas whilst enjoying some of this stuff. It’s maybe bit romantic thought, but I don’t think far from truth.
The 15yo in a way ties in all the beautiful things that the whiskies of the world have. It feels like it is the pivot point that keeps other rolling around itself. It is modest in all ways yet if it wished to do so, it would rule the world.

Nose: Rose, cocoa and hint of sandalwood, liquorish, lemon grass.
Taste: Spicy oak, dark chocolate hints of orange, dried fruits, raisins.
